– All-purpose flour (maida) – Grated coconut – Jaggery – Cardamom powder – Ghee & oil
Knead soft dough with maida, a pinch of salt, ghee & water. Rest it for 20 minutes.
Heat ghee → add coconut, jaggery & cardamom. Cook until it turns sticky & aromatic.
Roll small dough balls into thin puris. Keep them slightly thick to hold the filling.
Place filling in the center → fold edges → pinch at the top to give modak shape.
Deep fry modaks in medium-hot oil until golden brown & crispy.
Place hot fried modaks in front of Lord Ganesha as bhog (prasad).
Enjoy crunchy outside, sweet inside modaks with family this Ganesh Chaturthi!
